Emeryville Yacht Club has prepared a great cruise-out schedule for the rapidly approaching boating season. We have made arrangements with other clubs and Marinas who warmly welcome our cruisers to visit.
Below is a downloadable form (as Word doc & pdf) for you to sign up for any or all of the events. We strongly encourage you to sign up now, as we have reserved a very limited number of slips and if more show an interest we need to increase our reservations before they fill up.
April 24-25 - OPENING DAY ON THE BAY WEEKEND.
Let's start the boating season by showing our Club burgees out on the Bay. Benicia YC will bring some 15 boats to Emery Cove. We are planning to decorate one boat from each of the Clubs and enter jointly; the decorating theme is "Building Bridges". We are also planning a joint dinner with the visiting club on the night of April 23rd. More information will be forthcoming as soon as we hear from you. One of our members has already volunteered his beautiful 46' boat as the EYC entry for the Opening Day on the Bay Boat Parade, April 25th.
May 28-31 – Memorial Day weekend – Jazz Festival.
Cruise out to Sacramento YC. Besides attending the Jazz Festival in Old Town Sac, you will be the guests of Sacramento YC that every year hosts some 500 persons for breakfast, lunch and dinner for 3 days!! How they do it is beyond me - all I know is they have an extraordinary number of volunteers that year after year enjoy the camaraderie with other clubs. Berthing is free, but extremely limited - I will reserve space for 5 boats, but I need to confirm by April 1st, so make sure you let me know if you plan to attend ASAP. For more information visit the SYC website: www.sacyc.org, or contact me by email or phone at 415-412-5317. All reservations have to be made by a Club Officer, in this case me, your Vice Commodore.
July 4th - Fireworks at Jack London Square
Here again you must let me know ASAP if you want to see this spectacular show of lights. I have reserved 5 slips subject to confirmation. Cost is: $25, refundable gate card deposit, plus slip fees of $1.50/foot (min $45). Upon confirmation that you want to participate, I will email you the Marina's cruise-in form for you to fill in your name and boat information.
August 14-15 - Cruise Out to San Rafael YC.
We are welcome to cruise in, use the bar, bathrooms, etc. The Seafood Peddler is a good restaurant a very short walk from the Club (about a block or so), that I highly recommend.
August 21. The International Yachting Federation of Rotarians (IYFR) will cruise in to Emery Cove. EYC will host a BBQ on the marina lawn under our tents, starting at 4 PM. Please join us in welcoming fellow mariners. Please make your reservation by August 5th. Cost is $20 per person prepaid by August 15th, $25 at the door. Please note: reservations are required as this is a catered event.
October 8-12 – Fleet Week.
Cruise out to SF Bay followed by Gen Membership meeting under EYC tent. Our "Tent Events" are always lots of fun out on the lawn just off the Emery Cove offices. More to come as we get closer to the date.
November 13th - Installation of 2011 Club Officers.
Save the date for this gala event. More information later.

Photos from Opening Day 2010...
In preparation for the Opening Day on the Bay parade, 12 boats from Benicia YC cruised in to Emeryville. The evening before the parade, Emeryville YC hosted 30 members of the Benicia YC at a dinner at Trader Vics. 18 members of EYC came to join the fun. At Trader Vic’s we had our very own private room, deck and bar, plus a special menu. Hope more of you join us for the next event. We’ll keep you posted.
