CALENDAR OF EVENTS - 2011 Saturday, April 16 – EYC General Membership Meeting. San Jose Sailing Club makes its 8th annual visit. There will be a General Meeting of the Emeryville YC membership, followed by cocktails and dinner with members of the San Jose Sailing Club at Trader Vics. Email notification will be sent out in March.
Thursday, April 21 – Board of Directors Meeting – Emery Cove harbor office.
Sunday, May 1. Opening Day on the Bay. The membership is invited to decorate a volunteer boat and decorate it to theme – “Giants of the Bay” and participate as a club entry in the PICYA OPENING DAY PARADE. If you would like to volunteer your boat, contact member of the Board and we will make arrangements to get a crew and decorate your boat.
May 26-30– Memorial Day weekend – Annual Jazz Festival/Cruise out to Sacramento YC. Any one interested in going to this fun event, must make arrangements through the Commodore. Contact Carmen Chalfant by March 12, 2011.
Saturday, July 16. The International Yachting Federation of Rotarians (IYFR) will cruise in to Emery Cove. All EYC members are invited to a joint BBQ on the harbor grounds. For information contact Vice Commodore Lorenzo Rios.

Saturday, August 13 – General Membership Meeting. Emery Cove grounds. Email notification will be sent in July.
Saturday October 8. October 6-11 is Fleet Week. A General Membership Meeting is planned on the Emery Cove grounds on Saturday after the air show. We are seeking volunteers to organize a cruise out on the Bay to watch the air show and after the show, enjoy real good camaraderie among members under our Tent. Contact Rear Commodore Mark Wieber.

Saturday, November 5. Installation of Officers. Meeting and dinner. Site to be determined.
The following boating associations plan to cruise in to Emery Cove: Tower Park YC (Sept 13-15) and the San Joaquin Power Squadron (Oct. 17-18). We will notify you as soon as plans are firmed up.

In preparation for the Opening Day on the Bay parade, 12 boats from Benicia YC cruised in to Emeryville. The evening before the parade, Emeryville YC hosted 30 members of the Benicia YC at a dinner at Trader Vics. 18 members of EYC came to join the fun. At Trader Vic’s we had our very own private room, deck and bar, plus a special menu. Hope more of you join us for the next event. We’ll keep you posted. photos by Mark Wieber |
